Vivek Agnihotri Receives THREAT Calls To Stop 'The Kashmir Files' From Releasing In India-Report
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'The Kashmir Files' which features Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher in leads. The poster of the movie was featured at the Times Square tower in The Big Apple in the US on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day. Based on a true story, the film will narrate the story of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency. As per the latest report, Vivek is receiving threat calls to stop the film from releasing in India.

An Etimes TV report claimed that 'The Kashmir Files' has been screened more than 30 times in the USA. But in Indian theatres, the film will release next month. Ahead of its release in India, Vivek has been getting threat calls and messages to stop the release of the film in India. This is not the first time that the filmmaker had received such calls. Earlier, Vivek Agnihotri had gotten threat calls to stop the screening in the USA, but he ignored it. This time, he is getting calls to stop the release in India. An insider was quoted as saying, "But now suddenly the frequency of threat calls and messages has been increased, many of the calls were to stop the release of the film in India else he would lose his life.”

Talking about his film, Vivek had earlier mentioned that the story of Kashmir Files is a reality, every single word in the film is true, every story is real. “People may come thinking that the film is about communal issues, or bashing certain communities or jingoism. But they will realize that nothing of this kind is going to happen.”

The film was earlier scheduled to release on 26 January 2022, coinciding with Republic Day but got postponed due to the Omicron variant spread. Also starring Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi and Chinmay Mandlekar, it will now hit the theatres on 11 March 2022.
